Dahlia seeds produce new Dahlia flowers never seen before. They do not return true from their seeds. If you grow one you like, save the tubers. Dahlia tubers are genetic copies and will come back true. These are so fun to grow because you always get some great surprises. Images shown are from the Dahlia patch in 2024.
We plant these about 4"-6" apart to encourage long stems and get more plants in the ground. Make sure your soil is well drained. We recommend having netting or some support system for your Dahlias as they tend to get heavy when they are fully grown.
